Our professional development opportunities are hands-on and practical. Our workshops provide evidence-based practices, giving educators the tools, strategies, and insight needed to support our learners.


Building Inclusive Learning Environments

This workshop provides educators and other professionals with the knowledge and skills to support neurodivergent learners in their school. We address topics ranging from what neurodiversity is to specific strategies school professionals can employ. Topics we cover in this workshop include:

  • What neurodiversity is and what it means to be neurodivergent. We address common misconceptions and set a foundation for using a strengths-based approach with students.

  • How educators can create inclusive classrooms. We provide educators with the tools they need to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles through the implementation of universal design principles.

  • Supporting social-emotional wellbeing. We go over strategies for promoting empathy, understanding, and acceptance among peers.

  • The importance of collaboration and communication. What do effective partnerships with parents, support staff, and other stakeholders look like to ensure holistic support for students. 

  • We provide you with a toolkit of practical resources to enhance the learning experiences for neurodivergent learners.

Empowering Students through Functional IEP Writing

Who should take this course? The content of this workshop was created for special educators, related-service providers, caregivers, and other education professionals.

The workshop objective: In this workshop, we provide you with the training and tools you need to write student-centered, strengths-based, and functional IEPs. This workshop provides you with realistic case studies and information you can apply to the students you are currently working with. This material in the workshop is compliant with all Vermont rules and regulations.

Topics we cover in this workshop:

  • A brief overview of the history and foundation of IEPs.

  • Collaboration of team members is vital. In the workshop, we explore various ways to ensure all voices are heard, especially the student’s.

  • Why is data so important? Collecting and analyzing data is crucial in determining what the student needs. 

  • We teach you how to write the present levels section of an IEP that captures the strengths and interests of the student as well as their current levels of achievement in a succinct way.

  • You will walk away with clear, measurable, and achievable IEP goals that you can reference after you have completed the workshop.

  • Generalized accommodations and modifications don’t always work. We go over how to create individualized accommodations and modifications that support student progress.

  • Writing transition plans that focus on the specific skills and interests of the student.
