Tutoring
We offer one-on-one tutoring for grades 6+ in the areas of reading and writing. We create a supportive and engaging environment while tailoring instruction to the individual student’s literacy needs. We aim to instill a lifelong passion for reading and writing, teaching students the foundational skills they need to excel academically and beyond.
Reading
We help students strengthen their reading comprehension by teaching effective reading strategies and vocabulary. By activating the student’s prior knowledge and continuing to help students make connections, students are able to transfer the skills they learn to the classroom.
Writing
From brainstorming ideas to editing and revising a piece they have written, our goal is to empower students to express their thoughts and understanding and to write with confidence. We provide support in writing essays, creative pieces, and other academic assignments.
Executive Function
Embedded in the tutoring sessions is the teaching of executive functioning skills. Teaching students executive function skills such as planning, time management, and organization fosters growth in everyday life.
